For the One Day Trip in Georgetown, I managed to take a few photos on my outfit for that day.

My sense of style is usually comfort over anything BUT  since it was a special outing, I chose to wear something comfortable but at the same time still fashionable. I hope haha

One day trip in Georgetown!

 Georgetown

18th March 2018

Hi everyone!
If you are visiting Penang for the 1st time and you have no idea what to do and where to go, let me bring you for a tour around Georgetown to places you must definitely visit when you're here!
Without further ado, let's start the trip!

1. Penang Hill

AddressPerbadanan Bukit Bendera, Jalan Stesen Bukit Bendera, Air Itam, 11500 Pulau Pinang, Malaysia.

One of the main attractions that Penang is famous for is definitely Penang Hill also known as Bukit Bendera. It is one of the best viewing points where you can oversee the whole of Penang Island as well as the mainland.

How to get there:1) Car
                 2) Rapid bus which is much cheaper: Bus services to Penang Hill

Once you reach Penang Hill, you would need to take a very thrilling and scary ride up to the top of the hill via the Funicular Railway System! Haha JUST KIDDING! It is a very safe ride up the hill where you can oversee the other stations of Penang Hill.
More information about the ticketing prices: Ticketing Prices

Isn't the view breath taking? My friends and I woke up extra early to make it for the sunrise and it was worth it! No edits or filters needed!

2. Air Itam Market

Address: Jalan Air Itam and Jalan Pasar, Air Itam, Penang Island 11090, Malaysia

The next stop to our trip is Air Itam Market where you can feed your growling stomach after exploring Penang Hill. Penang is after all famous for its cuisines right?

These two adorable sisters have been an iconic duo selling their famous Curry Mee for more than 70 years at Air Itam Market.
A bowl of their delicious noodles in spicy coconut broth is a local breakfast of choice costing only RM5.50

They even have their own Facebook page! Air Itam Sister Curry Mee

Char Koay Kak

(Kang Wan Ying,2018)

This delicious plate of Koay Kak is made by frying rice cakes with bean sprouts, sweet soya sauce, pickled radish and eggs. If you're daring and love spicy food, ask the auntie to add more Sambal to add a kick to the dish!

Ban Chang Kueh and Fried delicacies

There are many more stalls selling delicious food, be sure to check them out!

3. Kek Lok Si
Address: Kek Lok Si Temple, Air Itam, Penang, Malaysia

After eating our hearts out the market, let us continue our trip to Kek Lok Si! KIA KIA! need to walk off the calories 😂
Standing on a hilltop at Air Itam, near Penang Hill,is the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia

The temple grounds comprises of souvenir stores,  temples, gardens, the pagoda and the four heavenly kings pavilion; meanwhile the hilltop plays host to an enormous statue of the Goddess of Mercy, Kuan Yin.
If you happen to visit Penang during CNY, be sure to check out Kek Lok Si at night! The temple is beautifully lighted up and it is an AMAZING SIGHT.I repeat AMAZINGGGGG

4. Heritage Area

The heritage sites of Penang are buildings constructed by the British in the colonial era, clan temples of the various Chinese clan associations, religious structures and pre-war shophouses within the inner city. Penang has been named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008 and we are certainly very proud of our rich culture!

** Tips: Best way to get around and explore the heritage area is to rent a bicycle or electric bicycle as it is very convenient and most importantly won't burn a hole in your wallet!

Armenian Street

Lebuh Armenian, is one of the many streets in the inner city of George Town and within the George Town Unesco World Heritage Site.  The street is the venue of the weekly Armenian Street Fair.

Beach Street

It is one of the oldest streets in George Town, Penang. It was built as early as 1786 or 1787, subsequent to Light Street, to be the main commercial street of the newly established George Town

Lebuh Aceh

Acheen Street is almost as old as George Town itself.
Acheen Street runs from Carnavon Street to Beach Street. From there it continues as Acheen Street Ghaut. It also forms junctions with Armenian Street and Cannon Street.

There are many more heritage trails in Georgetown and you can refer to the website below to find out more!

Street Art

One of the bucket list items for tourists when they come to Penang is to take as many photos with the street art by local artists and Ernest Zacharevic.

It may be difficult to find these street arts without a guide so I have attached a google map of all the street arts in Penang and how to find them. Mini Treasure Hunt!

5. Jetty

Address: Chew Jetty, Pengkalan Weld, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia

The last destination for the day! Located straight down from Lebuh Chulia at Pengkalan Weld (Weld Quay), these water villages are over a century old. Each jetty is named after a Chinese clan – the Chew Jetty is the most tourist-friendly with the most stilt-houses, the longest walkway, a temple that is worth stopping by.
